Skiathos has more usable beach than any island its size has a right to, and the operations on them range from a driftwood shack grilling calamari to order, to a fully decked beach club with cocktail service and three rows of loungers.
The single most useful thing to know before choosing one: beach position is the strongest predictor of an overpriced, underwhelming kitchen on this island. The best-known beach venues are frequently not the best ones. Where a venue's setting is carrying a weak kitchen, we say so on its page rather than letting the photograph do the talking.
The other thing worth knowing is structural. Several of the island's strongest beach bars β Xenia at Koukounaries, Grace at Ambelakia, Nest at Big Banana β exist online only as sections of a parent hotel group's website. They are excellent and they are real; they simply have no independent presence to find them by. Others appear in every 'best beach bar' roundup with no first-party source behind the reputation at all. If you cannot find a beach bar online, that is usually a fact about the business's web presence, not about the bar.
