Frequently asked questions
How do you get to Lalaria beach in Skiathos?
Only by boat. There is no road and no walking route down the cliffs. It is about 10km by sea from Skiathos Town on the north coast, and it is a standard stop on round-island boat trips leaving from the old port, usually combined with the sea caves and Kastro.
Why is Lalaria beach famous?
For its brilliant white, sun-polished round pebbles under sheer pale cliffs, the clarity of the water above that white stone bed, and Tripia Petra β a natural sea arch at one end that local legend says will make you young again if you swim through it.
Can you take pebbles from Lalaria beach?
No. Souvenir collecting and over-tourism led to the beach's natural state being legally protected, and removing the stones is prohibited.
Are there facilities at Lalaria beach?
None. No sunbeds, no bar, no shade and no toilets. Bring water, and water shoes if you have them β the pebbles are hard to walk on and get very hot.
