Ta Kymata in full
Ta Kymata — 'the waves' — has been on the Paraliaki, the beachfront road, since 1978. That makes it one of the oldest continuously trading family tavernas on Skiathos, behind only Mesogia and a small handful of others.
The cooking is traditional Greek and the ouzo-meze list is long, which tells you what kind of evening it is built for: small plates, slow drinking, no hurry. Mr Spyros cooks.
A naming caution worth carrying: there is an entirely unrelated Ta Kymata on Skopelos. If you are searching, specify the island — this is a recurring trap across the Sporades and it caught our own research more than once.
